Succession Plan Implemented at Kencor Inc.

SUCCESSION PLAN IMPLEMENTED AT KENCOR INC.

Richard A. Kennedy, President and CEO of Kencor, Inc., announced the following plan for succession at Kencor, Inc., effective November 1, 2019.

Karen Kennedy Dodds, currently Vice President, will assume the office of CEO and develop the vision and the teams to accomplish corporate goals, while  enhancing the culture and promoting the Kencor mission.  She will continue to oversee the financial, administrative, legislative, and legal functions of the organization. Karen is a graduate of the College of Charleston and acquired an MBA from West Chester University.  She has accumulated fifteen years of experience in several roles at Kencor, including field, sales, finance, HR, and business development.  She currently serves as the Chairperson of the Elevator Contractors’ Council for the Association of Building Contractors (ABC) on a national platform.  Karen has been receiving executive training at the Vistage organization for the past eleven years.

John Dodds, currently the Chief Operating Officer, will assume the office of President expanding his duties and taking control of all internal and external operations of the company.  John has over twenty years’ experience at Kencor Inc. starting in the field as a helper and moving through the ranks to mechanic, troubleshooter, adjuster, superintendent, service manager, COO, and now President.  John acquired his AD in Business Administration from Delaware Technical Community College and will receive his  bachelor’s degree from Penn State University in June 2020.  In addition to his duties at Kencor Inc., John has served: on the Board of Directors of The National Association of Elevator Contractor’s (NAEC); as the executive secretary of the NAEC; as Chair of the Certified Elevator Technician’s certification program (CET) and  Chair of the NAEC’s Qualified Elevator Inspector’s certification program (QEI).  John also secured state elevator mechanic’s licenses (Pa, NJ.DE,MD, DC) and has acquired  a QEI certification.  John has had executive training from the Vistage organization for the past seven years.

Richard A. Kennedy, founder and currently President and CEO, will move to the new position of Executive Chairman of Kencor, Inc.  After fifty (50) years at the helm of Kencor, Inc., he will actively interface will the new CEO and President while pursuing new ventures and markets for Kencor, Inc.  Kennedy states “Karen and John have been performing the duties of their respective new offices for some time and they deserve the title and recognition which goes with the offices. I am excited for their new opportunities and how they will design the next level for Kencor Inc.”
