Meeting Kencor, Inc. Inspection Standards

Servicing Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania elevator repair needs is a steep job. But Kencor, Inc. has over 175 years of combined experience so we can meet all of your expectations. While there are many standard practices of elevation inspections across our regions of service, there are a few state-specific safety requirements that must be met as well. Here are a few requirements by state:

Pennsylvania

Delaware

  • Pressure test (safety test) every year
  • Full load test every 5 years, if applicable
  • Inspection requirements vary by county and municipality.

New Jersey

  • Pressure test (safety test) every year
  • Full load test every 5 years

Maryland

  • Pressure test (safety test) every year
  • Full load test every 5 years, if applicable
  • Elevators must have a current inspection certificate to operate
  • Visit Maryland’s Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation for more details.

States will typically provide notice when inspections are due. Contact Kencor, Inc. to arrange for your inspection, and we will provide you with and estimate and information about the upcoming inspection. Inspections will be accompanied by a third-party, state-approved inspector in order to maintain the results which are given directly after the inspection takes place. Then, building owners are given 30-60 days to have necessary repairs completed. Kencor, Inc. can also provide timely estimates and repairs.
